These Sterling Silver Charm Angular Hoop Earrings are hand made, inspired by stormy days on the Cornish coast and finding beauty in amongst the 'grey.'
Each hoop is approximately 3cm from the post and butterfly back to the lowest point and approximately 2.6cm at the widest point. The hoops are gently forged from 2mm wide wire to have flattened sides to further complement their angular shape. The end of each hoop is forged a little more to widen it and secure the charm in place. These hoops are finished with a lovely brushed texture
The Stormy Seas domed charm measures aprox 1.1cm wide by 2 cm tall. The inside of the dome has been treated with an oxidising treatment to blacken it, which has been lightly polished. The polishing process removes some of the colour and also gives it a sheen that changes the intensity of colour - depending on which direction you look at it, it looks various shades of grey and black, just like a stormy sky! Half of the concave dome is then textured again and small sections of the blackened, polished surface are hand engraved to reveal the silver - it's this that is representative of the ferocious sea.
The front edge of the dome and charm is flat and has been polished for contrast against the inside of the blackened dome. The back of the charm has been finished with a brushed texture.
This unique design would make a great gift for anyone drawn to the coast and the sea, or who perhaps needs a little reminder that beauty can be found on the greyest of days... They complement so many looks and with the removable charm, transition perfectly from day to night!
