This Sterling Silver tie clip is inspired by stormy days on the Cornish coast and finding beauty in amongst the 'grey.'

Each tie clip features disc of Silver that has been shaped in to a dome, measuring aprox 1.2cm (12 mm) wide. The Dome is positioned to the end of the clip and soldered in place so that it stands prod of the actual clip. The inside of the dome have been treated with an oxidising treatment to blacken it, which has been lightly polished. The polishing process removes some of the colour and also gives it a sheen that changes the intensity of colour - depending on which direction you look at it, it looks various shades of grey and black, just like a stormy sky! Half of each concave dome is then textured again and small sections of the blackened, polished surface are hand engraved to reveal the silver - it's this that is representative of the ferocious sea. The edge of the domes are flat, front facing and have been polished for contrast against the blackened insides.

This unique, contemporary design would make a great gift for anyone drawn to the coast and the sea, or who perhaps needs a little reminder that beauty can be found on the greyest of days... It would make a great gift for grooms on your wedding day but also provide a great opportunity to coordinate the whole wedding party as gifts for Best Men, Groomsmen and Fathers. Such a thoughtful gift for retirements, special birthdays, graduations or Christmas, A wonderful special keepsake that can be worn again and again and will never go out of style!

The back of this clip can also be personalised with hand stamped* initials to make it a truly personal, one of a kind gift.

This tie slide forms part of a wider collection, with complementing items available.

* Hand stamping is created by the blow of a hammer on steel letter and number punches. It’s not as precise as engraving and so irregularities and variations in the text are to be expected. Letters may not always be perfectly aligned and some letters may strike deeper than others. This is part of the charm of these designs and makes your jewellery uniquely yours.
